I discovered Jenndalyn's magical creations on Pinterest, and have pinned her works countless times over. Her whimsical themes and uplifting quotes got my attention this week as I am craving a bit of magic in my life, so I chose her to be my featured artist. In the post I will talk about how her works speak to me, what inspirations I am getting from her works, and also show off some images of her beautiful creations. Please keep reading to learn more about my featured artist, Jenndalyn. |
Artist Jennifer Lee lives and works out of Columbus, Ohio creating her beautiful and dreamy art. After double majoring in Fine Art and the History of Art then spending 2 1/2 years behind a desk slowly losing her creativity. she eagerly came back to her passion for art. She is inspired by the colors of nature, small miracles, and the everyday beauty. Her style is vibrant, busy, and colorful. Jenndalyn is not a believer in the "Less is More" style of art making, which is fine by me!
I love the style of her various mixed media works, and these represent some of my favorites from her current portfolio. The layered up colorful circles are so fun and whimsical, it makes me want to try my hand at some collage art again. I love the patterns and textures she selects to mix together, I wonder where she finds them all. Her quote pieces are also wonderful, and inspiring. I love seeing these henna and floral style marks around uplifting quotes, they always make me want to doodle and practice my handwriting. To me it seems that she does a lot of this collage and text work digitally, which also speaks to her photography and editing skills. I love this cross platform mixed media style, when it is done this well, and how it shows that the world of art is constantly evolving and finding new ways to carry on.
Jenndalyn's artwork reminds me to keep it happy and dreamy; to keep connected with the whimsy of the work that I create; and to not be afraid to take steps in new and different directions. I hope to take some of her bohemian style with me into my new series of works that I am still developing. And maybe one day you'll see some beautiful quotes show up in my works or some whimsical collage.
